Module 1: Illinois ILCC Seller-Server Training Overview
After completing this module, you will be able to do the following:
- Understand the social impact of drinking.
- Correctly define terms related to the sale or serving of alcohol in the state of Illinois.
- Describe the responsibilities of the sellers and servers of alcohol in the state of Illinois.
- State the intent of Illinois laws relating to the physical properties of alcohol, drugs and alcoholism, prevention and intervention techniques, state and local alcohol-related statutes, proper identification and police expectations, and potential liability issues.
Module 2: Physical Properties of Alcohol, Drugs & Alcoholism
After completing this module, you will be able to do the following:
- Define blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and list factors that affect BAC in individuals.
- Use observation to detect if a person is intoxicated.
- Calculate blood alcohol concentration (BAC).
Module 3: Prevention & Intervention Techniques
After completing this module, you will be able to do the following:
- Describe how alcohol vendors may be responsible for the acts of their customers (Dram Shop Liability).
- Determine whether a sale of alcohol is legal or illegal with regards to an intoxicated person in a variety of different situations.
- Define blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and list factors that affect BAC in individuals.
- Use observations to detect if a person is intoxicated.
- Apply appropriate intervention techniques for preventing sales to intoxicated persons in a variety of circumstances.
Module 4: Illinois State Statutes, Local Ordinances, Illinois DUI Laws
After completing this module, you will be able to do the following:
- Correctly determine what constitutes a legal sale or service of alcohol in the State of Illinois.
- Understand the ramifications of driving under the influence of alcohol in the State of Illinois.
Module 5: Proper Identification Techniques, Police Policies & Expectations
When you complete this module, you will be able to do the following:
- Use observations to detect when a minor is attempting to purchase alcohol.
- Correctly identify whether an ID is valid and proper for purposes of establishing age, and
- Determine appropriate intervention techniques with regards to a minor attempting to purchase alcohol in a variety of situations.
- Recognize signs of Human Trafficking and how to help.
Module 6: Dram Shop Liabilities, Insurance, and Victim's Rights
When you complete this module, you will be able to do the following:
- Describe how seller-servers are responsible for the acts of their customers (Dram Shop Act).
- Describe the role and benefits of a Designated Driver.
- Understand the rules regarding Cocktails To-Go.
- Understand the intent of BASSET Alcohol and Gaming.
- Describe the proper use of Municipal Support Services.
