NC Seller/Server Alcohol Training

This course consists of 4 modules outlined below:

Module 1: North Carolina ABC Beverage Seller-Server Training Overview
After completing this module, you will be able to do the following:

Correctly define terms related to the sale or serving of alcohol in the state of North Carolina.
Describe the purpose, goals, and rules for seller-server training and certification.
State the intent of North Carolina laws relating to alcohol sales to minors and intoxicated persons.

Module 2: Underage Persons and Alcohol Sales
After completing this module, you will be able to do the following:

Determine whether a sale of alcohol is legal or illegal with regards to an underage person in any given situation.
Use observations to detect when an underage person is attempting to purchase alcohol.
Correctly identify whether an Identification (ID) is valid and proper for purposes of establishing age.
Determine appropriate intervention techniques in regards to an underage person attempting to purchase alcohol in a variety of situations.

Module 3: Intoxicated People and Alcohol Sales
After completing this module, you will be able to do the following:

Describe how seller-servers may be responsible for the acts of their customers (Dram Shop Act).
Determine whether a sale of alcohol is legal or illegal with regards to an intoxicated person in a variety of different situations.
Define blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and list factors that affect BAC in individuals.
Use observations to detect if a person is intoxicated.
Apply appropriate intervention techniques for preventing sales to intoxicated persons in a variety of circumstances.
