After completing this module, you will be able to do the following:

Correctly define terms related to the sale of serving of alcohol used in this course.
Describe the purpose, goals, and rules for seller-server training and certification.
State the intent of laws concerned with preventing alcohol sales to minors and intoxicated persons.

Module 2: The Impact of Alcohol on the Body
After completing this module, you will be able to do the following:

Recognize the potential signs of intoxication.
Describe the effects of alcohol on the human body.
Define Blood Alcohol Concentration.
Discuss the factors that can affect the severity of intoxication.

Module 3: Preventing Underage Sales
After completing this module, you will be able to do the following:

Determine whether a sale of alcohol is legal or illegal with regards to a minor in a variety of different situations.
Use observations to detect when a minor is attempting to purchase alcohol.
Correctly identify if an ID is valid and proper for purposes of establishing age.
Select appropriate intervention techniques when a minor attempts to purchase alcohol.

Module 4: Preventing Sales to Intoxicated Persons
After completing this module, you will be able to do the following:

Understand the Hours of Operation for Establishments serving or selling alcohol.
Describe how seller-servers are responsible for the acts of their customers (Dram Shop Laws).
Determine whether a sale of alcohol is legal or illegal with regards to an intoxicated person in a variety of different situations.
Define blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and list factors that affect BAC in individuals.
Use observations to detect if a person is intoxicated.
Explain strategies on how to refuse service to an intoxicated person when necessary.
